“Lucid’s Price Cuts: How Much Are They Lowering Costs?”

Lucid EV lowering prices again this month, taking the starting price of the Lucid Air down to less than $85,000.

Early in the year, the EV company cut prices because there were rumors that demand was going down for most if not all, EV makers. It is also lowering prices again this month, taking the starting price of the Lucid Air down to less than $85,000.

How much do different versions of Lucid’s electric car cost right now?

The Lucid Air Pure has two motors and a range of 410 miles. It now starts at $83,900, which is $5150 less than it used to be.

The price of the Air Touring has gone down by $12,550, so it now starts at $96,500. Its two motors give it a range of 625 miles and 620 hp.

The Air Grand Touring has also dropped by $12,550 and now starts at $127,100. The EPA says it has a power output of 1050 hp and a range of 516 miles.

There’s no doubt that these are big price cuts. But will they make people who weren’t already thinking about getting a Lucid Air order one? We think that serious buyers of electric cars with prices in the six-figure range or just below it could probably afford almost any version of the sedan, and price cuts might not make them rush out to buy one. Also, we don’t think that many people who were completely out of that price range will suddenly be able to buy one.

If a true base model is coming, it will be the rear-wheel-drive Lucid Air Pure, which will start showing up next month. Lucid hasn’t said how much it will cost to start, but it’s likely to be less than $80,000. On the other hand, the cheapest Tesla Model S is the Dual Motor model, which starts at $89,880 and has a range of 405 miles. On the other hand, the three-motor Model S Plaid starts at $109,880 and has a range of 396 miles and 1020 hp.

Model S was Tesla’s best-selling car for a while, but that was long ago. The 10-year-old car, which got a yoke steering system out of the blue a couple of years ago, makes up a small part of Tesla’s sales right now, along with the equally expensive Model X.

Over the past year, the prices of Tesla models have gone up and down like a roller coaster, sometimes in big ways. Tesla has changed prices by four or even five figures without warning. Some people who bought cars days or weeks before the prices dropped are now asking for partial returns or, at the very least, are very angry online.

Lucid, on the other hand, is getting ready to make its Gravity SUV now that there are many options for people who were looking for cars. But Mercedes and BMW are still adding to their EV lineups, so there is plenty of competition in that area as well.

Not too long ago, the least expensive Lucid Air sedan cost more than the base price of a Tesla Model S, because Lucid focused on making the most expensive launch versions at first. Now that most of the other models have been made, the Lucid Air is finally getting cheaper, at least in comparison.
